Brother Control Center 3 Not Working Due To Adobe Flash Player End-of-Life

Last Updated on April 20, 2021 by Next Century

Adobe have announced the end of support for the Adobe Flash player after 12/31/2020 and will block Flash content from running in Flash Player beginning 1/12/2021.

Since the Brother Control Center 3 uses a Modern style skin that requires Adobe Flash, it will no longer function after this update.

Most likely, this is what the issue looks like now when you try to open the Brother Control Center 3.

Instead, use the Classic style skin, which doesn’t require Adobe Flash to function:

You do not need to uninstall the Brother Software Suite, instead, follow these steps:

  • Right-click on the Control Center icon in the system tray near the clock, and then left-click on Close

  • Open File Explorer and go to the following folder:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Brother\ControlCenter3\Skin

  • Single-click on the folder ModernStyle to select it, then right-click on the folder and select Cut

  • Click the back button in the top left corner to go back one folder and you should then be in the folder ControlCenter

  • Right-click on an empty space in the folder and then left-click on Paste.

The ModernSkin folder will now be moved to this folder

  • Restart the computer

  • After the restart, you should now be able to open Control Center 3 again and it will open with the Classic style skin by default as shown below

Here is a video guide for the above method
