How to backup your entire computer with Acronis True Image 2018

Backing up the entire machine is the most complete way to protect your data.

We recommend that you choose this option when you are not sure which data that you need to protect.

When you select Entire PC as a backup type, Acronis True Image backs up all your internal hard drives in disk mode.

The backup contains the operating system, installed programs, system settings, and all your personal data including your photos, music, and documents.

MICROSOFT WINDOWS COMPUTER

To backup your entire Microsoft Windows Computer, follow these steps:

  • Start Acronis True Image via your desktop icon

  • On the sidebar, left click on Backup

  • Entire PC is pre-selected, leave it as is

  • You can create a custom name for your backup

  • Acronis Cloud is pre-selected as a default place to store backups, but you can change it. Click Acronis Cloud to change it, and then select a destination for the backup

    Note:  You need Acronis True Image subscription to be able to back up to Acronis Cloud

  • Click Options to set the options for the backup, including schedule, scheme, archive cleanup and others

    For example, set how long the backups should be kept.
    If you store backups locally (on an USB drive, NAS, network share, etc.), set up cleanup rules in Backup Scheme:

    If you store backups in cloud, set up cloud, set up cleanup rules in Advanced

  • Click Back up now or select another start time option

APPLE MAC COMPUTER

To backup your entire Apple Mac Computer, follow these steps:

  • Start Acronis True Image via your desktop icon

  • On the sidebar, left click on Backup

  • Entire Mac is pre-selected, leave it as is

  • You can specify a custom name for your backup

  • Click the backup destination icon, and then select a destination for the backup

  • Click the gear icon to set the options for the backup, including schedule, scheme, archive cleanup and others

  • Click Back Up
