Logging in to the WordPress Dashboard

Last Updated on May 14, 2020 by Next Century

Logging into your WordPress website is very simple to do.

The admin back-end or the “WordPress Dashboard” is where you go to edit your pages, add and manage your content and administer your site as a whole. This is not accessible unless you log in.

Make sure you are using the correct set of logins for each part of the login process.

  • To access the WordPress dashboard you simply need to add /wp-admin to the end of the URL where you installed WordPress like the below example:

Note! If you installed WordPress to the document root of the url it would be example.com/wp-admin. If you installed WordPress on a folder called “blog” on your domain you would go to example.com/blog/wp-admin

When you visit the login page for WordPress you will see this login screen

  • Type the username and password you used when you installed your WordPress or provided by your WordPress administrator

  • After you login to the dashboard successfully you will see the WordPress dashboard.
