How to manually check for Windows 10 Updates

Last Updated on April 10, 2020 by Next Century

Windows 10 periodically checks for the latest updates and security features and installs them automatically to keep your device running smoothly and securely.

As with all backups, it’s always best to have a system backup first, especially if installing a feature update.  If you do not have backup software installed, then it is recommended to at least create a Windows 10 Recovery disk.

But sometimes, it’s worth checking manually if there are Windows updates are available and here are a couple of ways you can check:

Check for updates via Settings

  •  Select the Start  button

  • Then go to Settings   > Update & Security   > Windows Update

  • Select Check for updates
