Set up Microsoft 365 Email account on MacOS with Outlook

Here’s how to setup your Microsoft 365 email account with Apple Mail for MacOS.

NOTE: This guide was done in MacOS Mojave (v10.14.6)

  • Open Microsoft Outlook  

    Normally it is pinned to the Dock but if not, select Go > Applications to find it

  • If you have not used Microsoft Outlook before, you will be prompted to use the Microsoft account that you activated Microsoft Office with or you can select to enter a different email address

    Otherwise, select Tools > Accounts and select Add Email Account

  • Type in your Microsoft 365 email address, then select Continue

  • If you have a valid Microsoft email account, you then will be prompted to Enter password

    Then select Sign in

  • You should then see that your email account has been added

    Now select:

    • Add Another Account – If you have another Microsoft email account you want to add
    • Done – You have no more Microsoft email accounts to add
    • Get Outlook for iOS & Android – If you want to install the Outlook app on your Mobile or Tablet

    NOTE: If the Internet Accounts box appears with your email settings, just close this box

  • You have successfully added your Microsoft email account in Microsoft Outlook
