Before you start the update process, it is recommended that you have a full backup of your computer should something go wrong with the update.

To update to Windows 10, follow these steps:

  • Go to the Download Microsoft Windows 10 page and click on Download tool now to download the Media Creation Tool

  • This will download a file called Windows10UpgradeXXXX.exe or something very similar to this.

Double click on the file to start the upgrade process

NOTE: If you get a User Account Control request, click Yes

  • Click Accept to the licence terms to begin the download of the Windows 10 install files

  • Next make sure Upgrade this PC now is selected and click on Next

  • You will then see the Downloading Windows 10 screen which is at least a 3GB download so do make sure this does not go over your ISP download limit and also a reasonable internet connect is required.

The installation progress can take at least an hour or significantly depending on your computer and internet connection.
