System Restore helps you restore your computer’s system files to an earlier point in time.
Typically, you want to restore your computer to a restore point that was created just before the date and time when you started noticing problems. The descriptions of the restore points that are created automatically correspond with the name of an event, such as Windows Update installing an update.
System Restore returns your computer to the state that it was in before the restore point that you choose.
NOTE: System Restore will not get you back any deleted files, if anything, it will only make things worse.
Follow the steps below to restore system files and settings using a recommended restore point.
Under Restore system files and settings you will see a Recommended restore selected.
If this date is before your issues began then click Next and jump to the next step
Otherwise, select Choose a different restore point and click Next
If still none of the dates are of valid, then click on
to see all the restore points available.
Windows will now restore your system files and settings from the date you have selected, then your computer will restart.
This should take between 5 to 30 minutes depending on the speed of your computer.
Once Windows 7 goes back to the desktop, you should get a message whether it was successful or unsuccessful.
NOTE: From experience, occasionally, your issue can still be fixed even though the restore was not successful
If this has not fixed your issue, do try a different restore point
